R800 000 a year – Full-time
We are looking for an operational project manager to join us and make orphanages history. As the world recovers from Covid, there is increased risk of families experiencing the poverty, lack of support and desperation that drives children into orphanages, or Child and Youth Care Centres. There is vital work to be done in ensuring this does not happen and we are uncompromising in our mission to achieve deinstitutionalisation of the child protection system in South Africa.
This year we are driving forward our Care Reform agenda with preventing family separation in communities at its heart and pioneering our ground-breaking AFS-KHUSELA prevention model which aims to reduce levels and impact of violence on families and children in communities.
To make this happen we work hand in glove with professionals and paraprofessionals, government and NGO partners, knowledge, project implementation and funding partners and a variety of other stakeholder relationships and we pride ourselves on building relationships with excellence, transparency and integrity at their core.
You will be a dynamic, strong leader with an excellent understanding of the complexities in child protection in South Africa, able to work in the field, connecting and inspiring trust with communities and frontline workers as well as in the boardrooms of government departments.
Location: Flexible, with requirement to travel to and work from HHC’s Head Office at Kyalami Business Park Midrand, Johannesberg for part of the week, and periodically to work at Hanover Park, Western Cape.
